NFL draft guru Mel Kiper has released his first 2016 ‘Big Board’ ranking, a list of college football’s top 25 draft-eligible prospects heading into the season. Friendly rival Todd McShay dropped his too, a slightly different list featuring 32 of the nation’s best NFL prospects.

It’s no surprise both Kiper and McShay’s initial rankings are littered with SEC talent, headlined by Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil who many consider to be the top pick in next year’s draft. Rebels teammates Robert Nkemdiche and Laquon Treadwell are also possible lottery picks.

The scouting analysts differ on safety Tony Conner, however. Kiper has him inside his top 25 at No. 22, but Conner’s left off McShay’s list. McShay’s high on Georgia outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, Alabama senior linebacker Reggie Ragland and junior LSU cornerback Tre’Davious White.

Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, a near unanimous selection as college football’s best defensive back depending on who you ask, will hear his name called early, says both.

Kiper and McShay spend 10 months out of the year watching tape and evaluating over 700 draft-eligible players.
