Here’s a look at some notable streaks that were extended or shattered in Week 5.

Alabama saw its streak of 72 straight games as a Vegas favorite end against Georgia on Saturday. The Crimson Tide closed as a consensus one-point underdog against the Bulldogs.

Arkansas put an end to its nine-game losing streak in games decided by seven points or fewer. Those nine games had all come since Bret Bielema became the Razorbacks coach, and two of them came this season (a 16-12 loss to Toledo and a 28-21 OT loss to Texas A&M).

Auburn has won 28 straight non-conference home games after its 35-21 win over San Jose State on Saturday.

Florida RB Kelvin Taylor has rushed for a touchdown in five straight games, making him the first Gators running back to put together a streak that long since Ciatrick Fason had a TD in five straight games in 2004.

Georgia RB Nick Chubb went for at least 100 yards rushing for a 13th consecutive game, surpassing Herschel Walker’s school record of 12. Walker actually did it in 13 straight, but that would include the 1981 Sugar Bowl, and bowl stats weren’t counted back then.

Kentucky saw a 12-game streak without committing at least three turnovers end against Eastern Kentucky. That stretch spanned more than a year as the Wildcats hadn’t committed that many since Sept. 27, a 17-7 win against Vanderbilt.

LSU RB Leonard Fournette has run for 200 or more yards in three straight games, becoming the first SEC running back to accomplish the feat. Fournette ran for 233 yards on Saturday against Eastern Michigan. Meanwhile, LSU now won 51 straight regular-season games against non-conference opponents, extending the FBS record it already holds.

Mississippi State Prescott failed to throw a touchdown pass against Texas A&M, snapping his string of 18 games, which was second only to TCU’s Trevone Boykin for the longest active FBS streak. On the bright side, Prescott hasn’t thrown an interception in 225 consecutive passes, which is now the third-longest streak in SEC history. Prescott threw 34 passes without an interception on Saturday against Texas A&M, surpassing Ole Miss’ Stewart Patridge (200), Florida’s Tim Tebow (203) and Georgia’s David Greene (214).

Missouri ended three straight South Carolina possessions with an interception to start the second half in Saturday’s 24-10 win over the Gamecocks. Kenya Dennis, Ian Simon and Walter Brady each took turns intercepting Gamecocks true freshman QB Lorenzo Nunez.

Ole Miss has now gone 58 straight seasons without starting 5-0 in back-to-back seasons. The Rebels had a chance to put an end to that streak on Saturday against the Gators. Ole Miss hasn’t accomplished the feat since doing it in 1961 and 1962.

South Carolina is 0-3 in SEC play to start this season. It had been nine years since the Gamecocks started 0-3 in SEC play in 2005, which was Steve Spurrier’s first season as coach in Columbia.

Tennessee has now lost 10 straight games against SEC West opponents. The Vols haven’t beaten a team from the division since beating Ole Miss 52-14 on Nov. 13, 2010.

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin snapped a five-game losing streak at home against ranked teams. In his time with the Aggies, Sumlin was 0-5 in such games before Texas A&M’s 30-17 win against Mississippi State on Saturday.

Vanderbilt snapped a three-game losing streak against Middle Tennessee by eking out a 17-13 win on Saturday. The Commodores had won 12 straight against the Blue Raiders before that skid.
