Three members of Texas A&M’s Corps of Cadets are facing criminal charges after a horrible discovery on campus.

KBTX in College Station obtained reports that a dead dog was propped up on pieces of firewood and was found in the middle of the band’s practice field.

The dog was covered with blood and another bodily fluid of some sort while having a coat hanger around its neck. It was fitted with an Aggies baseball cap, one that’s apparently given out to freshmen students who are members of the Corps of Cadets.

Not long after the dog was found at 2 a.m. on March 7, the three 18-year-old boys — Atticus Johnson, Garrett Kale and Sterling Hampe — were identified, taken into custody and charged with illegal dumping.

According to KTBX, the motive for the incident is unclear at the moment, and there has been no comment from the Corps of Cadets.

Since the dog was already deceased when it was picked up, the boys are not facing animal cruelty charges.
