LSU RB Leonard Fournette hasn’t been shy about praising his fellow SEC backs.

According to AL.com, Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough is the latest SEC runner to earn a compliment from the Heisman favorite:

“He’s bigger than Derrick,” a smiling Fournette said. “He’s a great talent. He’s not a sleeper at all. He’s been doing the same things I thought he was gonna do since high school, so I’m looking forward to seeing him.”

Coach Nick Saban is also confident in his running back’s abilities. He said he expects a big year from the sophomore back:

“I certainly think he’s capable of doing all the things that we need him to do,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said of Scarbrough during the spring. “I think part of it is confidence, knowledge, experience, having confidence in what he’s supposed to do, how he’s supposed to do it, why it’s important to do it that way. I think when he understands that, he plays fast and he’s very effective. So those are the kinds of things that we can improve on.”

Scarbrough has big shoes to fill after 2015 Heisman winner Derrick Henry moved on to the NFL. He’ll get his first chance to show what he can do in a featured role during Alabama’s season opener against USC on Sept. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
