14 from SEC make Sporting News All-America team
Sporting News has announced its All-American team for 2016, and 14 players from the SEC make the team, including six first-team selections.
First team Sporting News All-Americans:
- Ole Miss TE Evan Engram
- Alabama OL Cam Robinson
- Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett
- Alabama DE Jonathan Allen
- Alabama LB Reuben Foster
- Vanderbilt LB Zach Cunningham
Eight more made the second team:
- LSU C Ethan Pocic
- Auburn G Alex Kozan
- Tennessee DE Derek Barnett
- LSU LB Kendall Beckwith
- Florida LB Jarrad Davis
- LSU CB Tre’Davious White
- Alabama CB Minkah Fitzpatrick
- Auburn K Daniel Carlson
The six first-team All-Americans have one of three qualifications to be consensus All-Americans. The consensus label is awarded to players who make three of the five following All-America teams: Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Sporting News. Unanimous All-Americans are those named to all five teams.
