The SEC placed five players on the list of 19 quarterfinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced Monday.

The award is presented annually to the “best college defensive players in the nation who make the biggest IMPACT on their team both on and off the field,” according to the foundation. College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott is the namesake of the trophy, and IMPACT is an acronym that stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen and safety Eddie Jackson both made the list, making the Crimson Tide the only other team besides Wisconsin to have two quarterfinalists for the award. LSU safety Jamal Adams, Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis and Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett rounded out the SEC’s representatives.

The foundation will announce semifinalists Nov. 9 and four finalists Nov. 30 before naming the winner Dec. 11 live on FOX Sports.
