We’ll soon see whether the ACC closed the gap this year in comparison to the SEC. As usual, Florida plays Florida State, Georgia plays Georgia Tech and South Carolina takes on Clemson in the final week of the regular season. Then, the conferences should meet a few times in the bowl season.

If the season ended last week, Clemson and Alabama would have been pointed toward an eventual meeting the College Football Playoff national championship game.

Florida and North Carolina, division winners in the conferences’ weaker divisions are hard to figure, though the Tar Heels are riding a 10-game winning streak since losing their opener to South Carolina.
