Western Kentucky was on track for a forgettable game against Florida International, but one play was especially troublesome.

The Panthers took a 34-17 on a botched punt attempt by the Hilltoppers that resulted in a 38-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the third quarter.

WKU’s Jake Collins eventually ran for a loss of 12 yards before the fumble, which was picked up by Flain D’Vonte Price. There was also the unusual penalty for illegal batting that was declined.

The game appeared more lopsided than expected as WKU came in with a 6-5 record, and FIU was 6-4.
