Five interesting SEC headlines over the weekend you might have missed:

1. Ricardo Louis, Son Of The Year

Mother’s Day isn’t just a one-day deal. Former Auburn standout Ricardo Louis clearly understands that.

He said he’s going to sign over his first NFL paycheck to her.

2. SEC’s best hitter … Jackie Bradley Jr.

Bradley didn’t play football at South Carolina, but he helped the Gamecocks win consecutive College World Series titles in 2010 and 2011.

Bradley, now an outfielder with the Boston Red Sox, extended his consecutive game hitting streak to 27 Sunday.

Ted Williams never did that. His longest streak was 23 games.

It’s one of the longest hitting streaks in Red Sox history. The franchise record is 34.

3. Derrick Henry has a new jersey number

Last season, he wore No. 2 at Alabama and finished No. 1 in Heisman voting.

He’ll reportedly wear No. 24 with the Tennessee Titans, who drafted him in the second round.

4. Jim Harbaugh adds *37th, 38th satellite camp

*Surely he can get to 50, right?

The Detroit Free Press reported that Harbaugh added two more, both in Georgia, for June 2. He’ll start June 3 in Jacksonville, Fla., and finish the day with two more camps in South Florida. On June 4, he’ll be at a camp in Tampa, Fla.

5. Connor Mitch pulls out of South Carolina QB derby

Mitch, who started the opener last season and helped the Gamecocks knock off North Carolina, announced he was going to graduate and transfer.

Mitch hasn’t decided where, but multiple SEC and ACC teams offered him a scholarship when he was a touted recruit coming out of Raleigh, N.C.

As a graduate transfer, he’ll be eligible to play this fall.
