Report: Former Tennessee OL Ja'Wuan James signs deal to become highest-paid RT in NFL
Since he was a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, former Tennessee OL Ja’Wuan James has spent his entire five-year NFL career with the Miami Dolphins.
In that time, he’s become one of the most-reliable right tackles in the league, and now he’s getting rewarded with a big new contract.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, James is expected to sign a 4-year, $52 million contract with the Denver Broncos when the new league year starts on March 14:
Former Dolpins’ OT JaWuan James intends to sign a four-year, $52 million deal that includes $32 million guaranteed with the Denver Broncos, per source.

That deal will make James the highest-paid right tackle in the NFL, so it’s no wonder he’s leaving Miami for the Mile High City.
James made 15 starts for the Dolphins in 2018, missing one game due to a knee injury. He set the record for most-career starts by an offensive lineman in Tennessee history, starting 49 games for the Vols.
