Five days after nearly notching a monumental win at No. 8 Notre Dame, Vanderbilt earned a victory on the recruiting trail.

Three-star outside linebacker Kendall Young gave a verbal commitment to the Commodores on Thursday, announcing the decision on his Twitter account.

“It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to play college football in the SEC,” Young wrote on Twitter.

Young, a product of Bentonville West High School (Centerton, Arkansas), is the 16th member of Vanderbilt’s 2019 recruiting class. At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Young stacks up as the 11th-best player from Arkansas and 110th-best outside linebacker in the class, according to 247Sports.com’s composite ratings.
