This is not a serious list. Devin Leary and Graham Mertz's rankings are based on what they did at their prior schools, not current ones. Leary has shown absolutely nothing good so far in Lexington vs worse competition than Mertz has faced. Also lol at Overthrow Joe #8
LMAO what a waste of time. Can you say that this post got under his skin?
There is absolutely no reason, at all, to have Alabama ahead of Florida. Same record except Florida has a quality win or two.
Is Terrace Marshall still out this week?
Blackshear committed to Florida this afternoon FYI. You'll see the announcement tonight I suppose. I'm sure by now, your dog has informed you.
I think two reasons: (i) Buzz didn't make him an NBA player in the 4 years at VT and (ii) while I do believe that Buzz will turn A&M into a solid program, I think that the next couple years could be rough for them.
I have been following the Blackshear recruitment fairly closely. Over the last 4 days I have flip-flopped between Tennessee and Kentucky for where he may end up. However, as of the last 15 minutes I can now say with a fair degree of confidence that he will end up at Florida. Stay tuned.
Interesting to hear because Kentucky insiders say that they are hearing Florida is the team to beat
Not sure what "momentum" they have going into next season. They lost every contributing player and have a weak recruiting class. Will probably be one of the worst 2 or 3 teams in the SEC.
As a Florida fan, I am FAR more intrigued by the Miami game than Tennessee.
The Citadel was the hardest team you played all year...you really think that Auburn goes into the half tied?
Didn't suggest Kentucky isn't a good team. Just not top 5 at the moment. Every year they seem to be ranked that high, setting up false expectations for the fanbase. Had Kentucky been ranked 15, no one would be talking about it.
I'll add another: Kentucky once again gets a preseason Top 5 ranking it didn't deserve and got embarrassed.
I love the tale of two perceptions betweenness Kentucky and Florida. Kentucky brings in a bunch of 5 Star freshmen and td “oh they’re loaded with talent!” Meanwhile, Florida brings in a 5 Star PG and it’s “hmm not sure if they have anyone to replace Chiozza. This Florida team will be the best they’ve had since 2014.
So Florida has a better record than Miss St, wins AT Miss St, and beat LSU who also beat Miss St. And he has Miss St one spot ahead of Florida? Seems legit.
Nice..this bodes well for the Gators actually
Sharp money on Florida pushing the line down to 6.5 already.
Not sure if it was a mistake or not but you don't have Florida on this list. Chris Chiozza and Koulechov are the only notable players who left. Koulechov's role is easily replaced and Florida has a 5 star PG coming in as well. Jalen Hudson returning was a huge surprise and you also have Kevaughn Allen at the 2. Florida will finally have a post presence with Isaiah Stokes and Chase Johnson healthy as well. Combine all that with incoming freshmen Keyontae Johnson and Noah Locke, who was regarded as the best three point shooting recruit in the country. I think this Florida team is the best they have had since 2014.
Perhaps they considered that Florida had quite literally half of its team injured or suspended last year? That and if you followed Florida at all this offseason, you would know the significant strides they have made, particularly in the strength & conditioning department. Nick Savage has taken a nonexistant S&C program and....well...you can look at the weights of players on last year's rosters and compare to this year's.
Yeah they gave up rushing yards because CSU runs the ball every play
I actually think these rankings are the most indicative. These handicappers have an intricate "points" ranking system that they use to determine a fair line for a neutral field matchup. Generally when people have money and "bet followers" on the line, I take what they think seriously.
That is a joke that they don't include Florida. This will be their best team since 2014. Also, what has Kentucky done to be ranked #1? They are turning into the Notre Dame of college basketball...start the year with an unearned, absurdly high ranking and finish the year subpar.
