Vanderbilt lost star Scotty Pippen Jr. to the NBA this offseason, so coach Jerry Stackhouse and the Commodores will try to rebuild.

On Wednesday, the Commodores got a huge win on the recruiting trails, scoring their first player from the 2023 recruiting class.

As you can see below, 3-star guard Isaiah West, the No. 1 2023 recruit from the state, announced he was staying home:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, West is the No. 23 combo guard in the class of 2023 and the No. 1 overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.

West is the first player to join Vanderbilt’s 2023 recruiting class. You can find Vanderbilt’s 247Sports recruiting page here.
