Now that spring practice is finished, let’s take a close look at the injury situation on every SEC East team, keeping in mind suspensions and arrests.

FLORIDA

Major Injuries: WR Brandon Powell (foot), OL Martez Ivey (shoulder), OL Brandon Sandifer (knee), LB Alex Anzalone (shoulder), K Jorge Powell (knee/torn ACL), K Neil MacInnes (knee/torn ACL)

Other Casualties: WR Antonio Callaway (suspended indefinitely for undisclosed reason), QB/WR Treon Harris (suspended indefinitely for undisclosed reason)

Receiver Brandon Powell and offensive lineman Martez Ivey missed the entire spring as they recovered from offseason surgeries.Ivey is expected to be ready for fall camp as he’s already been cleared for light weightlifting.

Linebacker Alex Anzalone was a non-contact participant in the spring after missing the last 12 games of the 2015 season with a shoulder injury. Kickers Jorge Powell and Neil MacInnes both missed the entire spring.

OL Brandon Sandifer was shut down for the spring after suffering a knee injury, and he was really the only unexpected setback for a Gators squad that’s pretty intact although it would be nice to find out what’s up with Antonio Callaway and Treon Harris’ suspensions.

GEORGIA

Major Injuries: LB Roquan Smith (wrist), LB Chuks Amaechi (shoulder), LB Shaun McGee, DL DaQuan Hawkins (MCL),  DL Michael Barnett (MCL)

Other (Potential) Casualties: DL Julian Rochester (arrest), DB Chad Clay (arrest)

Head coach Kirby Smart said during the spring that the linebacker position is his biggest area of concern, and injuries are the reason why.

Roquan Smith tore multiple ligaments in his wrist that required surgery and forced him out of spring practices, but Smith is expected to fully participate in summer workouts.

Meanwhile, Chuks Amaechi played through a torn labrum in the 2015 season and underwent surgery to repair it in January. He was non-contact throughout the spring. Shaun McGee had arthroscopic surgery on his knee and was limited this spring.

DE Michael Barnett and DT DaQuan Hawkins are expected back from their knee injuries, which aren’t a long-term concern to Smart.

Both Julian Rochester and Chad Clay participated in the team’s spring game despite their arrests on felony charges of possessing a weapon in a school zone and second-degree criminal damage to property, but Smart indicated a punishment would be handed down “at the appropriate time in the appropriate manner.”

KENTUCKY

Major Injuries: RB Stanley “Boom” Williams (elbow), WR Dorian Baker (knee)

Other Casualties: WR Blake Bone (hamstring), WR Alexander Montgomery (knee), TE Darryl Long (shoulder), S Mike Edwards (undisclosed), LB Nico Firios (shoulder)

Boom Williams is still recovering from offseason surgery to his elbow. He didn’t have contact this spring, but he’s expected back by fall.

Meanwhile, the team’s leader in receptions last season, Dorian Baker, is recovering from getting his knee scoped. Coaches expect him to return to the team in June.

A few other pass-catchers had concerns towards the end of spring. Blake Bone and Alexander Montgomery both missed the team’s spring game, while TE Darryl Long had offseason shoulder surgery.

Safety Mike Edwards had an undisclosed injury that required surgery in mid-April, but he’s expected back in the summer.

A shoulder injury last October that forced LB Nick Firios to sit out the rest of the season is still hampering him as the redshirt sophomore also missed the spring game.

MISSOURI

Major Injuries: DE Charles Harris (shoulder), DE Nate Howard (knee), DE Walter Brady (knee), DT Terry Beckner Jr., DT Harold Brantley (car accident), OL Nate Crawford (back)

Other (Potential) Casualties: OL Clay Rhodes (undisclosed)

Missouri has been hit hard in the trenches.

On the offensive line, junior Nate Crawford, who started eight games at right tackle and left guard last season, is sidelined until at least fall camp after another surgery on his lower back. Sophomore offensive lineman Andy Bauer decided to give up football because of a hip injury.

In the latest update, Clay Rhodes missed several practices due to personal reasons and his status is unclear.

On the defensive line, Charles Harris has been out after having surgery on his right shoulder, and his backup Nate Howard is recovering from a knee procedure.

Another end in Walter Brady, named Freshman College Football All-America last season, went down with a knee injury in the second quarter of the team’s spring game. Fellow Freshman All-America selection Terry Beckner Jr. returned to team practices in a limited capacity before sitting out the spring game as he works his way back from an ACL injury. He’s expected to recover fully by preseason camp.

Harold Brantley is still working his way back from the horrific car accident he was involved in last June. He has to put on weight and recover academically as well. He participated in a few early spring practices but not any over the final three weeks.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Major Injuries: BUCK Darius English (thigh), LB Skai Moore (neck), QB Lorenzo Nuñez (knee), QB Perry Orth (collarbone), S D.J. Smith (thumb)

Other Casualties: WR Terry Googer (ankle)

South Carolina lost a couple key defenders to injuries this spring.

The Gamecocks’ leading tackler last season and Second-Team All-SEC selection, Skai Moore, was sidelined with a neck injury. Meanwhile, the team’s top pass-rusher, senior BUCK Darius English, missed the spring with a thigh injury after leading the team with 4.5 sacks a season ago.

Safety D.J. Smith tore a ligament in his thumb in the team’s first spring practice and played through it for a bit, but he eventually sat out the rest of spring after getting surgery on it.

Offensively, two quarterbacks went down. Perry Orth broke his collarbone, but will be 100 percent by June 1, according to coach Will Muschamp. Lorenzo Nuñez also missed the spring game due to a hyperextended knee.

In early April, Muschamp announced that sophomore receiver Terry Googer went down with a high ankle sprain and would be forced to miss the rest of spring.

TENNESSEE

Major Injuries: DE Derek Barnett (shoulder), Josh Malone (shoulder), OL Chance Hall (shoulder), LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin (shoulder), DT Shy Tuttle (fibula), Evan Berry (shoulder)

Other Casualties: OL Jashon Robertson, DB Stephen Griffin (hand/wrist), LB Austin Smith (shoulder), DE Kyle Phillips, (shoulder), WR Jauan Jennings (undisclosed), DL Kendal Vickers (shoulder), WR Vincent Perry (undisclosed)

The Vols were without nearly 20 players for their spring game. The good news for the injury-riddled Vols is that none of these injuries are expected to persist past June or July.

However, practicing without this many players, and several key ones, isn’t helping the team prepare for a season in which lofty expectations are being heaped on the team.

Key players such as Derek Barnett, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Chance Hall and Josh Malone all missing the team’s spring game is a cause for concern, but maybe even more so to the younger players who need their leadership.

That will certainly make things difficult, and their injuries were hard to round up as well, so excuse me if I left anyone out.

VANDERBILT

Major Injuries: OT Andrew Jelks

Other Casualties: WR Caleb Scott, WR Trey Ellis, WR Latevius Rayford, TE DeAndre Woods, FB Kyle Anderton

Vanderbilt will see the return of some key pass-catchers this season as WR C.J. Duncan and TE Jared Pinkney are back.

Offensive tackle Andrew Jelks missed the team’s spring game along with receivers Caleb Scott and Trey Ellis, tight end DeAndre Woods and fullback Kyle Anderton, but all of them are expected back by fall camp, according to The Tennesseean.
