Continuing our late-season daily series looking at the recruiting circuit in the SEC, we analyze the conference’s top commits at the wide receiver position for the 2015 recruiting class. Alabama’s Calvin Ridley is a five-star with limitless potential, the top player at his position and yet another playmaker the Crimson Tide have hauled in from South Florida.

SEC’s Top Commits Series

Using each player’s 247Sports Composite rating, here’s how the SEC’s top wide receiver commits stack up and where they stand nationally against other standouts at the same position:

1. ALABAMA — Calvin Ridley, 6-0, 170, Pompano Beach, Fla., Five-Star (1)

2. TENNESSEE — Preston Williams, 6-4, 190, Lovejoy, Ga., Five-Star (4) — The nation’s No. 2 receiver with a knack for hauling in everything thrown his way recently had surgery to repair his ACL and LCL following a season-ending knee injury. The Vols are expected to honor his scholarship offer despite there being no timetable for his return.

3. GEORGIA — Van Jefferson, 6-3, 180, Brentwood, Tenn., Four-Star (12)

4. ALABAMA — Daylon Charlot, 6-0, 193, Patterson, La., Four-Star (17) — On hand for Alabama’s recent overtime win in Baton Rouge, the Crimson Tide commit is still considering LSU and says he’s ’60-40′ Alabama at the moment. He’s one of 90 players nationally playing in the Under Armour All-American Game in January.

5. ARKANSAS — K.J. Hill, 6-0, 190, North Little Rock, Ark., Four-Star (20) — A consensus top player in Arkansas, Hill picked the Razorbacks over Alabama and Notre Dame in August, adding to a well-established crop of pass-catchers — including tight end Will Gragg — Bret Bielema’s coaxed to Fayetteville. Hill’s a former teammate of current Alabama sophomore tailback Altee Tenpenny.

6. TEXAS A&M — Kemah Siverand, 6-0, 187, Houston, Texas, Four-Star (25)

7. GEORGIA — Jayson Stanley, 6-2, 200, Fairburn, Ga., Four-Star (28)

8. GEORGIA — Michael Chigbu, 6-2, 210, New Orleans, La., Four-Star (31) — The third four-star receiver expected in this year’s class in Athens, Chigbu’s a possession option with above-average hands, ball skills and route-running ability.

9. LSU — Jazz Ferguson, 6-5, 205, Saint Francisville, La., Four-Star (34)

10. SOUTH CAROLINA — Christian Owens, 6-5, 210, Griffin, Ga., Four-Star (40) — A recent flip who picked the Gamecocks over in-state favorite Georgia, Owens provides the South Carolina offense with a rangy 6-foot-5 target much like they’ve had in previous years with Sidney Rice and Alshon Jeffery.
